Description

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A ONE DAY AUCTION!!!

This is a 1964 U.S. COLUMBIA RECORDS 7" 45 RPM SINGLE containing the tracks 'I Am the Greatest' / 'Stand By Me' from the late boxing legend Cassius Clay, later known as Muhammad Ali.  It is Columbia Records catalog number 4-43007, with its original Columbia Records stock company sleeve.  'I Am the Greatest' is one of Ali's classic rhyming raps about his boxing skills; 'Stand By Me' is a surprisingly good straight musical take on the Ben E. King classic, this Clay / Ali version has now become a Northern soul classic!

Condition of record is VG+ with some visible surface marks which cannot be felt and will not affect play; some of the surface marks are concentric, suggesting prior use in a juke box.  Record plays like a champ, no pun intended.  Labels have no flaws.  Condition of stock Columbia Records company sleeve cover is VG+ with some wrinkles and a little wear along the edges and on the corners.  This historic 45 would be a choice addition to any Muhammad Ali / Cassius Clay memorabilia collection or any 1960s R&B record collection!  First class mail postage within the U.S. is $3.50.  I WILL SHIP WORLDWIDE - REGISTERED FIRST CLASS INTERNATIONAL AIRMAIL POSTAGE WITH TRACKING AND SIGNATURE DELIVERY is $22.95 to Canada, $27.95 to all other areas. BUYER PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH - IT PROBABLY WILL NOT GET HERE!  I will give an immediate refund including outbound shipping upon return of the 45 if buyer is dissatisfied for any reason. Good luck!
