Lot includes 12 different 1940s AFRS 16” transcription discs for broadcast including Basic Library” No. U-1089/ U-1090– Count Basie, Doris Day, Bing Crosby, Dinah Shore, Andrews Sisters and many others.
NOT PLAY TESTED - SOLD AS HISTORIC COLLECTIBLE
These “Basic Library” discs were issued to Armed Forces stations as pre-cleared popular-music selections for local broadcast. They were never sold commercially and most were destroyed after service use. This example features top-tier performers and includes the original “Radio Disc – Electrical Transcription” Allied sleeve with printed handling instructions and “Warm Weather Warning” notice.
Condition: Good+. Labels show moderate age and edge wear but remain legible. Sleeve has creases and small edge splits but displays nicely. collectible only.
