AMERICAN TOP 40
CASEY KASEM 12/30/72 This is the 2nd day of the top 80 Year End Countdown featuring the the top 80 hits of 1972. This 3LP box contains the TOP 40 Hits of 1972
Condition VINYL: VG++(play graded) except for a tiny skip 5 out of the 6 sides play an EX+ to NM. The last side plays a very clean VG+ but has a couple of defects. Aside from the very few defects, all sides play very cleanly & free from surface hiss. (My definition of VG++ is a very strong VG+ but not quite EX)
The main (almost the only) defects are- 1)There's a very small skip on Bill Withers "Lean on Me". You can barely see the needle move. It loses 3 words in the line "If you have a load you have to bear that you can't carry." It loses "that you can't" It skips from bear to carry. 2) there are a few pops at the very end of American Pie 3) There is a scratch that causes a small pop & an extremely tiny skip, that loses a fraction of a second of music but no singing, on Nillson's "Without You"
THE BOX: VG a very nice & clean looking VG but the top & bottom of the box are no longer attached (it should be attached on the left side) & 1 corner tip of the top of the box is split.(see pix)
CUE SHEET: It includes the the 6 page cue sheet in great condition.
I took the Lps out of their generic sleeves & put them in MFSL audiophile sleeves
I'M PURPOSELY NOT LISTING ALL THE ARTISTS & CUTS BECAUSE PART OF THE JOY OF LISTENING TO IT IS FINDING OUT WHAT'S NEXT.
THIS WILL BE EXTREMELY WELL PACKED
Just a side note this vinyl is the opposite of "deep groove". The grooves are very superficial so the tiniest bit of stray grit can cause more sound defects than deeper groove pressings. On the other hand the grit is easier to get off as it doesn't get stuck in the deeper groves.
