Description
This is a very good original stereo U.S. pressing copy of the third LP by Texas legends the 13th Floor Elevators, released in 1968. The record was a place holder for the group's label, released as the group was starting to fall apart due to drug use and Roky Erickson's emerging mental health challenges. Like the Seeds' contemporaneous Raw & Alive, it's a collection of studio tracks with audience noise dubbed in, though while the Seeds recorded their LP's tracks live in the studio, the Elevators' contains a mixture of LP tracks and outtakes. It's the latter that made the record worth owning back in the day. They include the Hall-Erickson composition "You Can't Hurt Me Anymore" and covers of songs by Buddy Holly, Bo Diddley, and Solomon Burke. The jacket has some creasing on the front cover, some light staining (mostly on the back cover), and a sticker stain on the front cover (see photo) -- EX-. The disc has several small bumps (presumably a pressing flaw), some of which cause light pops, and otherwise has some hairline scrapes and scuffing, and a slight loss of glossiness, and plays with some light surface noise -- overall VG+.
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
