Description

This is a gorgeous copy of the 13th FLOOR ELEVATORS debut LP, sometimes called "The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators," released in November of 1966 on Houston, Texas' International Artists Records (as #IA-LP-1). This is an original copy, not a reissue, on IA's two-tone yellow/green label (see pics) and it is in beautiful mint shape. The cover is still in the original SHRINK-WRAP so there is NO seamsplit or ringwear whatsoever and the colors are as rich as the day it was purchased. I have had it in a hard plastic outer sleeve for the last 30+ years to further protect it. There is a price sticker affixed to the wrap (visible in the last pic). The record itself is shiny, black and plays mint. The only flaws: there are two ridiculously superficial lines on Side 1, so superficial that I'm hesitant to even call it a scratch since it is ENTIRELY inaudible, and a few other tiny, tiny lines that show up under very bright light. There is also a smudge in the black of the run-off groove on Side 1. Side 2 has a smudge mark overlapping the 4th and 5th tracks that is similarly inaudible. Overall, this record looks and plays as good as any copy of this original rarity you are likely to find.
