Description
Up for auction is about as rare as it gets special 1st Edition MONO vinyl LP by The 13th Floor Elevators titled, The Psychedelic Sounds Of The 13th Floor Elevators from 1966 published on the International Artist label Catalog Number: Mono L.P. - 1A - No. 1. This is the real deal with the yellow label and the etching 1A-5001 Side-1 S-1264 and I-A 5002 Re S-1265 Re. "Re" is not repress in the etching. Do your research on discogs or other collector sites, this is the only true 1st pressing of this record and it typically sells for $400-$800 US.
The LP has a conservative visual grade of EX-/VG+ condition as such there are very minor surface scuffs and light superficial scratches. This is a top copy that I feel is closer to NM-/EX+, but I grade my records low to assure buyers are happy. See my feedback! The cover is bright and shinny on the front with minimal ring wear. One small split (approx 1") on the spine on the top left corner and bottom right (1/2") plus the expected small bump on corners. The back shows some fading of the white color as expected and slight ring wear. The label is beautiful as pictured and its the rare yellow mono version. This record is nearly 50 years old record and in remarkable shape.
All records look great in pictures, so I do my best to take pictures that represents the actual condition as well as describe each item as accurately as possible. Please read description carefully and examine pictures as returns are not accepted. Bid with confidence by reading my feedback on record sales in particular.
The record will arrive clean and ready to play. Full length LP's are cleaned on a VPI 16.5 vacuum machine, using a multiple stage system with Mobile Fidelity products including: Plus Enzyme Cleaner, Super Deep Cleaner (as needed) and Super Record Wash. Records are then placed in a Mobile Fidelity archive safe inner sleeve (unless noted) and sealed in a Japanese outer sleeve.
$4.00 shipping is for US address only, international buyers to pay actual shipping via ebay calculator. Records that sell for over $100 will include an upgrade to shipping at no charge. Payment is required within three days of auction end. Good Luck!
Please see my other auctions for more rare and collectible records! I just came across a lot of amazing LPs in great shape from a radio station collection. Check them out!
