Description
Help! 1st Press
STEREO
(NO SKIPS OR JUMPS)
SOLID VG
Firstly a bit of history of the album.....HELP was the BEATLES' 5th album coming out on the 6th August 1965. The premier of the album was played in London on the 29th July. Once again reaching the top spot in all record magazines of that era...as they had done with the previous four albums!
This is the rarer version in STEREO-Obviously, back in the day these cost significantly more than their counterpart MONO copies, so not many of these were produced and sold..

LOVELY EARLY PRESSING HERE
Vinyl:
QUALITY 152g
VG. There are some visible light marks....BUT- After playing her all the way through, I DIDN'T FIND ANY SKIPS OR JUMPS-just some background noise...QUALITY VINYL!
FLAT
(Glorious stereo!!)
Labels: VG(+). The good ole Yellow Parlophone label.
Only light spindle marks, visible when angled towards the light. "KT" tax code lovely and proud to side 1.
As you can see in the images provided, there is a small degree of central hole wear.
Outer text "The Gramaphone Co.LTD"
it DOES have the "Sold in the uk.." text.
THE SIDE 1 LABEL HAS THE ASTERIX AFTER TRACK 4 LISTING...LATER PRESSINGS HAD THE ASTERIX INFRONT OF THE TRACK LISTING-THIS IS THE 1st PRESSING.
ALSO HAS THE CREDIT "LARK MUS." FOR TRACK 1 ON SIDE 2-ANOTHER PIECE OF EVIDENCE SHOWING THIS TO BE A 1ST PRESS (IF THE VERY EARLY MOTHERS & STAMPERS HAVEN'T ALREADY GIVEN IT AWAY!)
Cover: VG(-). Still bright to the front laminate, with some discolouration to the back card. There are some crescents of spidering to the laminate near the opening and fingers of spidering eminating from the seams.
Some rubbing and knocks to the corners, nothing terrible.
The top and bottom gatefold has some rubbing to the side, but not all the way through, I am happy to report :)
OUTLINE STEREO
NO WRITING
VERY Good strong spine.
Excellently strong Garrod & Lofthouse flipbacks with
"Patents Pending"
REMAINS SOLID
PLEASE SEE THE DETAILED IMAGES AND READ MY FEEDBACK FOR HONEST GRADINGS AND HAPPY CUSTOMERS
Inner: Original white die-cut period inner with "Made In England" & "Patent No. 1,125,55" printed to one side.
Split to the bottom of the inner.
CERTAINLY LOOKED AFTER THIS RECORD OVER THE LAST 50 YEARS!
Overall; A good example of an increasingly rare STEREO, PARLOPHONE version of the HELP! Lp... AND IT IS THE 1st PRESS
I WOULD GRAB THIS AS A SOLID FILLER FOR ANY COLLECTION
