Description

EIGHTEEN ten-inch 78rpm factory test pressings from the Emerson Phonograph Company.  Found with an original Emerson Phonograph Company shipping box!  The address in New York City where these were originally shipped is the address of Hunter College.  I have not found any information on the identity of Mr. Pirrilli.  The shipping box does not have a bottom panel.  The records all have unfinished edges.  Labels vary from white with no notation, white with fountain pen notation, white with pencil writing, and also a standardized label with ink writing or no notation at all!  I have tried to give examples of all label types in the photo gallery.  Most records are flat, but some are ever-so-slightly concave from being stored in a stack.  Majority of the records are in Excellent or better condition, and play like records that were played only a few times.

All discs have an Emerson matrix number which I used to reference performance titles, artists, and recording dates.  Some I could not identify.  The greater number of these are from 1920, some from 1919, and one disc from 1921.   Full condition report and details for each record are listed in the photo gallery, where I posted screen shots of a spreadsheet I created listing all matrix numbers.

Records will be packed with care, double boxed.  Included are the green Emerson record sleeves these were stored in.  Not all the sleeves are stamped "Emerson," some are just plain green.  Shipping via Media Mail.
