Since 1915 at the Berlin Royal Opera, with guest appearances all over Europe and America.

A SUPERB RARE RECORD !!!

Hutt, Robert, tenor, 8.8.1878 Karlsruhe, † 5.2.1942 Berlin; he first became an engineer. The conductor Felix Mottl advised to study singing with Wilhelm Guggenbühler in Karlsruhe and in the Bayreuth School with Julius Kniese. Debuted in 1903 at the court theater of Karlsruhe, where he remained until 1906. In 1911 he came to the opera of Frankfurt a.M. from the Düsseldorf Opera House (1906-11), from there to the Berlin Court Opera in 1916, to the Berlin State Opera, whose member he remained until 1927; he sang the Emperor here in 1920 in the premiere of "Frau ohne Schatten" by R. Strauss, in 1926 in the premiere of Prokofiev's fairy tale opera L'Amour des trois oranges. Already during his Frankfurt engagement he had there 1912 in the premiere of the opera "Colonel Chabert" by H.W. von Waltershausen, 1914 sung the title hero in the premiere of "Parsifal". In 1913 he performed at the Drury Lane Theater in London as Walther von Stolzing in the "Meistersinger" under Sir Thomas Beecham, in 1914 the same role and the Parsifal at the London Covent Garden Opera. In 1911 he appeared hospitably in Budapest, in 1914 at the Amsterdam Wagner Society, again as Walther in the "Meistersinger". Further guest appearances in Zurich (in 1917 as Don Ottavio and as Tamino), in Brussels, Oslo and Helsinki. 1923-24 guest tour with the German Opera Company in North America. As the first game he sang on this tour in 1923 in New York the Walther von Stolzing. In 1924 he was heard in Chicago in the American premiere of d'Albert's The Dead Eyes as Aurelius Galba. Above all, he was valued as a Wagnerian tenor, but Manrico in the "Troubadour", the Duke in the "Rigoletto", the Hüon in the "Oberon" by Weber (1921 Staatsoper Berlin), the Raoul in the "Huguenots" by Meyerbeer and José in "Carmen" further highlights in his stage repertoire. He was married to the daughter of the director Ernst von Possart, who ran the Munich Court Opera in 1894-1905, and had a successful career as a soprano under the name of Anna Hutt (1875-1946) as under the pseudonym Ernesta Delsarta.

Records: Odeon (1914-15), Polydor (since 1915), HMV (Walther in excerpts from the "Meistersinger", 1928, already in electric recording technique).

[Addendum] Hutt, Robert; He sang since 1901 in the opera choir of the Karlsruhe Court Theater and was then included as a soloist in the ensemble, to which he belonged until 1904. 1904-11 he was engaged at the Opera House of Dusseldorf, 1911-17 at the Opera of Frankfurt a. M., 1917-28 at the Court and State Opera Berlin. There he sang the Elis in 1922 in the premiere of the opera Der Schatzgräber by Fr. Schreker and in the same year the Hüon in the Oberon by Weber. In 1913 he appeared at the Drury Lane Theater in London as Bacchus in "Ariadne auf Naxos" by R. Strauss. He has performed at the court operas of Dresden (1906) and Munich (1914) and in 1913 at the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels. His stage roles included the Radames in Aida, Don Carlos of Verdi, Alvaro in La forza del destino, Turiddu in Cavalleria rusticana, and Lyonel in Flotov's Martha. He still performed in 1929 at the Berlin Metropolitan Theater in Offenbach's "Beautiful Helena"

Quick note on grading:

The Grade (Excellent to Poor, I don't give Mint) refers to the WEAR of the record. Any other defects are stated separately

When I listen to a record, I may also give it an aural grade (again E to P), and make a SUBJECTIVE judgment of the pressing quality for hiss and surface noise.
"SUPERQUIET" is basically noiseless, like a vinyl pressing.
"VERY QUIET" is an exceptionally quiet record for a given pressing.
"Quiet" is a record that is a great example without undue noise for a give pressing.

These judgments are SUBJECTIVE and will depend one the styli, phonograph etc. you use on your own equipment.

Multiple item shipping: I am happy to combine items for shipment in one parcel.

Records will be packed safely between corrugated cardboard in a sturdy box with plenty of padding for safe shipment.

Shipment is usually Media Mail, unless you request another service. Shipping is at your risk, I will be happy to insure items at your cost.

I charge actual postage plus a small fee for packing materials

As always, I guarantee your satisfaction. If you don't like the item, just return it, and I will refund the full purchase price.

Prices below are for regular 78 rpm records. Up to about 5 records, I will ship Edison Discs for the same rates. Albums from Album Sets count as 1 record. Above that and for international shipments, it will be actual weight plus a small packing charge (1-3$ depending on size of shipment)

2 records: 6.50$

5 records: 8.00$

10 records: 12.00$

MANY MORE RECORDS: Don't worry. I safely ship 40 - 50 pounds of records double boxed in moving boxes, and even then Media Mail will probably not exceed 35$.
