*************************************** Something as rare as this : 1928 Andres Segovia 12" H.M.V. 78 D.1305
Tremolo Study (Tarrega) / Fandanguillo (Turina)
should never be sold so cheaply.
Purchase Tax code XTT and sepia labels indicate a c.1943 pressing
but the grooves will be the same as they were in 1928. Condition: Excellent, no noteworthy faults.
Not cracked or chipped. (Please disregard condition grades in Item Specifics! * ) (Ridiculous Ebay Item Specifics do not allow ''Made In England'' or ''Made in Gt. Britain'' or even "Fabrique en Angleterre") Will be well packaged for full protection in transit. Disc in spare sleeve to prevent 'knifing'. I am well experienced with posting 78s so buy with confidence! Don't worry, I don't use Evri, the Knock-door-run non-delivery service. WARNING TO ALL : EBAY BITES ALL THE HANDS THAT FEED IT.
This recent added "Buyer Protection" Fee lark is nothing to do with me.
I don't receive it. I normally refund the wretched Fee as soon as you buy. Who needs protecting? And from what?
And because Ebay is now withholding money from all sales for more than two weeks
I will be unable to post immediately. The post office refuses to wait two weeks for the money. And supermarket checkout staff would kick me out if I ask them to wait two weeks for a payment. Not recommended. Surely they would be well within their rights to call the police.
Payment by PayPal preferred but not in the case of local collection. * I disagree with Ebay's - and Goldmine's, V.J.M.'s and Record Collector's - definitions of
condition grades for records. It is about time true definitions were settled.
I shall set out my own here : Excellent means excellent. Nothing to take away the delight of receiving and playing the record. (I rarely use this grade as it is difficult to guarantee 100%. The best sound quality depends on the correct stylus, preferably a new one. And a Mono switch for Mono records, especially 78s. Vinyl records benefit from damp cloth to reduce surface static noise.) Very Good simply means very good. Light surface marks are allowable provided they do not interrupt listening pleasure. Anything less cannot be called very good. Good really means good (as opposed to all those other definitions!). Surface scratches are allowable provided they do not cause unpleasant listening experience. Fairly Good may be acceptable on the understanding that this is an item that has suffered over time from carelessness but still should be playable with no hangups. Anything less is generally not worth passing on to anyone but I've occasionally bought a record just for the label alone regardless of playing condition. I have received many items labelled Ex-, vg++ and suchlike, which I would grade as 'Fairly Good' - if that. I am strict with grading my own collection. (And what the hell is this "Inlay" that Ebay insists on?) ***************************************
