Great for framing... up for auction is an original old piece of sheet music from 1932 featuring some pretty big names at the start of their careers on the cover! There's a young CAB CALLOWAY, the BOSWELL SISTERS who became well known in New Orleans but did not gain national attention until they moved to New York City. The MILLS BROTHERS, GEORGE BURNS & GRACIE ALLEN, BING CROSBY, LEILA HYAMS, STUART IRWIN, KATE SMITH who sang the controversial top 20 song of 1931 "That's Why Darkies Where Born". VINCENT LOPEZ and ARTHUR TRACY are also featured from the movie The Big Broadcast.
The back cover has a great art deco design in cream and brown - JAZZ NOCTURNE by Dana Suesse.
The sheet music measures approximately 12" x 9".
When viewing the pictures of the auction item, please take note of the *actual measurements* of the item in description.
In some cases, photos are enlarged to show detail.
Condition as pictured. Please see photos for reference. Please note with most sheet music, the edges tend to have lots of wear and tear. I have used archival tape on the inside to help preserve. Also, the pages are all there but the binding is no longer attached to the back. Again, this is quite common with old sheet music because of the grade of paper used. Matted and framed... this would look FANTASTIC!
A great piece of history to add to any collection.
