Description

This is a vintage, 1934 Banner Records release of Bob Causer and His Cornelians performing "Don't Let it Bother You" on side A and "When He Comes Home to Me" on side B.  The antique '78 shellac record is #33171.  It is in a period Banner Records sleeve in nice condition with a few bends and a tear along one side.  (I cannot verify this sleeve went with this record as I inherited a large collection and the sleeves had been interchanged over time.)  The record appears to be in good shape, with a couple of smaller scratches.  (See photo).  I have no way of playing the record to verify its working condition and it is sold as is.  I inherited the vintage '78 more than 35 years ago from the original owner and it has been kept in a climate controlled environment.
A biography of Bob Causer on the All Music website offers some interesting theories about the purported drummer and orchestra leader of the 1920s.  One theory is that Causer did not actually exist, its a pseudonym for other artists.  A second premise is that Causer was a hotel manager in Ithaca, NY and when he was unable to find bands to perform at his hotel, drew together a rag tag group of musicians and performed himself.  Causer was mysteriously absent from concerts and recording sessions leading to speculation regarding his actual existence.
