*** Great Chicago gut-bucket Jazz ***
There was more than one group calling themselves the Chicago Rhythm Kings. This is without a doubt the most delightfully raucous and raw group to carry the name (and the best one).
Recorded March 11 1936 in Chicago.
With besides players like Arnet Nelson (who's also the singer) and Jimmy Bertrand on drums, the great Black Bob on piano. It's also the last session done by legendary Trombone player Roy Palmer (Born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1887) who played on those fantastic State Street Ramblers and Memphis Nighthawks sides in 1931/'32.
