Description
"Leo Is On The Air" Radio Show Transcription Disc Produced by MGM Pictures and Recorded by RCA. One complete radio program on this 14 1/2 inch, one sided, vinyl, 33 1/3 rpm disc. This disc was issued to radio stations for broadcast only and not available to the general public, very rare!
"Leo Is On The Air" radio program produced by MGM Pictures. This is a "air trailer" radio revue to promote the upcoming 1939 MGM movie "Honolulu". An excellent musical preview, described by "Your MGM Reporter" as "The First Big Song And Dance Show Of 1939"
Music includes "Song Of The Islands", "Honolulu" vocal by Gracie Allen who also plays the ukulele, "Honolulu" vocal by The Pied Pipers, "Hawaiian Medley", and an unidentified Hawaiian song which star Eleanor Powell tap dances to
Total time is 14:20 complete
The disc is approximately 14 1/2 inches in diameter. It has a rough edge all the way around. At first glance, the disc appears damaged, however I believe the disc was intentionally cut down to its size professionally after pressing, as none of the material is lost, the disc is not cut into the grooves and the program is complete.
Disc is in very good or better condition with light surface scratches. Sound is very good to excellent, disc sounds better than its condition, plays with no skips
Due to it's large size, this disc may not play on most standard turntables. For $10 I can include a CD transfer of the entire disc for the buyer only
