Description
To all appearances a very important record. It came with no sleeve and no notes, and I honestly don't know if it was intended for commercial distribution. I Got a Hiding Place and No Condemnation b/w I'm Gonna Lift Up a Standard for My King, sung and played by the Congregation of the Church of God in Christ at Moorhead Plantation near Lulu, Mississippi, 1941. It may be an Alan Lomax recording, but doesn't say so; just gives the order number: 613. I don't have a machine capable of playing 78s, so I can't vouch for its quality. To the eye it looks like side 1 in particular has had some handling, and there may be a couple of blisters in the shellac near the edge. Side 2 seems better. I will pack appropriately.
