Description
16 INCH, VINYL, 33 1/3 RPM RADIO TRANSCRIPTION DISC. THIS DISC WAS ISSUED TO ARMED FORCES RADIO STATIONS DURING WORLD WAR TWO FOR BROADCAST TO U. S. TROOPS OVERSEAS AND NOT AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. VERY RARE!
This disc contains the music "The Star Spangled Banner" and "God Save The King"
This disc was most likely to be played to sign off the Armed Forces Radio Service broadcasting for the day. Each side of the disc contains two performances of both songs. The "Star Spangled Banner" side starts with "The Star Spangled Banner", and the "God Save The King" side starts with "God Save The King". Each side is approximately 3 minutes
This is a really interesting disc, I suspect it has two national anthems as both US and British soldiers would have been listening to the broadcasts - a neat and unique piece of World War Two History!
Disc is in Excellent or better Condition with Excellent or better Sound, Beautiful Disc!
Due to their size, 16 inch discs will not play on most standard turntables. I will include a CD transfer of the entire disc for the buyer
US Buyer Pays $6.50 Media Mail Shipping, additional transcription discs ship for free in the U. S. For multiple items, please allow for invoice to be sent before making payment.
