Some local Hartford radio history for you….


Up for auction are two 16" radio transcription discs of radio station WTIC describing the arrival of the Freedom Train to Hartford on 10-01-47


Discs are in BEAUTIFUL condition.  However, there's only about five minutes recorded on the second disc


Freedom Trains traveled the United States and were dedicated to making American's appreciate their freedom.  The National Archives supplied each train with key documents from our history.


 It was a VERY big deal that blacks and whites got to mix and view the Freedom Trains together.   Integration was a big principle for these trains and they skipped the states that would not allow it.  


 There's much more on the internet and it's a very fascinating piece of our American history.
