*** 1948 American Bebop recorded in Sweden ***
Here's the original Swedish 78 rpm featuring some terrific 1948 Bebop recorded by American Bop-Bass ace Chubby Jackson. He and His Fifth Dimensional Jazzgroup where doing a tour of Sweden and stopped by the recently started Swedish Cupol label.
Recorded in Stockholm (Sweden) January 1948. Chubby remembered, how interested and enthusiast the Swedish audience was to hear the “new” music. “The old be-bop professor” as he calls himself at a program for the Swedish radio said: Such interest in bebop I have never seen in America. They face it exactly for what it is – a new phase of jazz.
