1950's MONO JAZZ: Stan Getz: The Cool Jazz Of Stan Getz- ARS G-407 NM & EX+ RVG

Stan Getz ?– The Cool Jazz Of Stan Getz

THE VINYL : This beautiful record is lightly played with minimal evidence of spindlewear, and both sides of the LP surface retain all of their original gloss. Bright, undamaged labels (please see photos). Other than some light sleevewear from the original inner sleeve, there are no marks on either side.

The record shows exceptional care and handling.

As is the case with most of the recordings in the American Recording Society's Jazz Division Series, the great Rudy Van Gelder  was the Recording Engineer on this release.  His etched initials (RVG) are in the deadwax run out on both sides.

Side 1  is NM with no marks.

Side 2  is EX+ with no marks, except for track B-3 which has some light marks and plays with some ticking.

THE COVER :  EX :  The covers that were issued by the American Recording Society Jazz Division Series were somewhat unconventional. From the photos, you can see that the cover consists of a piano keyboard around the edges of a colorful, heavy plastic sleeve with the LP opening at the top. Inside the sleeve is a 4 page booklet / insert that serves as "liner notes".  While the booklet has three hole punch marks for a conventional ring binder, the plastic sleeve does not have those holes.

On this "Cover", the bottom seam is split, the side seams are both intact, and there is some ringwear. There are four smallish holes in the front. Other than that, the plastic sleeve has no other holes, tears or missing portions, no writing, dirt or stains. The booklet is in the same condition, with a faint amount of age-related fading.

We have placed the LP into a protective plastic inner sleeve.

RECORD GRADING DESCRIPTION:

THIS RECORD IS SIGHT-GRADED ONLY UNDER A BRIGHT LIGHT, ACCORDING TO THESE DEFINITIONS:

SEALED: RECORD IS WRAPPED IN PLASTIC & UNOPENED.

NM-: RECORD HAS LITTLE OR NO INDICATION THAT IT HAS BEEN PLAYED.

EX: MINIMAL SIGNS OF USE (LIGHT SCRATCHING/PAPER SCUFFS), BUT IN ALL A RECORD THAT HAS BEEN WELL-CARED FOR.

VG+: LESS CARE THAN EX, LIGHT SCRATCHING OR SCUFFING IS MORE EXTENSIVE. STILL VERY PLAYABLE & WILL LIKELY PROVIDE A QUALITY SOUND.

VG & BELOW: WHILE PLAYABLE, THIS RECORD HAS BEEN AROUND THE BLOCK. OBVIOUS SIGNS OF WEAR & SHOULD BE CONSIDERED TO BE IN A LOW GRADE.  A RECORD GRADED BELOW VG MAY HAVE A VALUE BASED UPON ITS RARITY OR UNIQUENESS.

WE  RECOMMEND THAT YOU CLEAN THIS RECORDING BEFORE PLAYING. RECORDS THAT ARE  DECADES OLD CAN ATTRACT & ACCUMULATE DAMAGING FOREIGN MATERIAL THAT REDUCES SOUND QUALITY. THIS IS NORMALLY EASILY CORRECTED WITH A GOOD CLEANING.
