Description
Offered up is a vintage Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer 78 rpm children's phonograph. These items are rarely available on eBay and this is a very nice one! It is complete and in excellent working condition. The tube based amplifier system was serviced a number of years ago and operates very well - good amplification with no A/C hum. Additionally, the original magnetic style cartridge (with "nail" style replaceable needles) was replaced with a crystal cartridge which affords better fidelity and no damage risk to vintage records. And, most importantly, Rudolph's nose lights up when the power is turned on!! Additionally, the condition of Rudolph's image and paint is excellent. No breaks, cracks, with just a bit of paint loss to his eye.
The leatherette style case is in excellent condition. As the pictures show, there is slight scratching to the case where the needle from the old style cartridge was dragged across and made contact with the leatherette surface - a very common issue as these phonos were played with by children. Additionally included are 17 children's records that are encased in a felt lined tin storage case. They're all in good condition. However, no records jackets are included. See pics for titles and condition.
This is a great vintage piece from a time that is long gone.
