Description
This is the original 1955 MONO Gray label release by Capitol Records of the one and only Frank Sinatra entitled " in the wee small hours " (W 581). This album was arranged and conducted by Nelson Riddle. This famous album involved six (6) recording sessions to complete. See photo of back cover for the 16 tracks of songs and their composers.
The 62 year old heavy and shiny vinyl show no warps and limited spindle marks. Under bright light the vinyl does reflect superficial scratches and scuffs on each side. A complete test play of each side does reflect minor surface noises most notably on the slower passages but NO skips or repeats. Overall, the listening experience is most pleasant with only minimal distraction which does not overpower the strong vocals. We conservatively rate this vinyl's overall condition as Very Good (VG) using Goldmine standards. PLEASE NOTE: Meticulous vintage vinyl collectors may not consider the present listening experience up to desired standards. This vinyl HAS NOT had a deep cleaning with a high-end record cleaning machine which may be beneficial.
The outer jacket shows well as to front and back cover and would make a good candidate to frame for one so inclined. The conditions issues are primarily with the top and bottom seams. The top seam has a 5.5" split beginning at the end where the record is inserted. The bottom seam has a 3.5" split where record is inserted and a 2" split in the middle. The side seam with clear printing does not have splits but some minor cracking beginning at bottom edge with a softened corner. We rate this jacket's overall condition as Very Good (VG) using Goldmine standards. A new generic inner sleeve and a new poly slip-on outer sleeve are included to help keep this gem for another 62+ years.
The vinyl within the inner sleeve will be separated from jacket during shipment to help guard against further seam damage to the outer jacket.
