just released from the private reserves to be sold at auction.

ITEM DESCRIPTION

1956 orig DEE JAY Special pressing of this RARE / R&B - GROUP HARMONY  7" 45rpm record in orig slv
on the original KING Records Label ( 4947 ) by The HURRICANES * 

( * Brooklyn R&B vocal group from the Bedford-Stuyvesant section featuring
the lead voice of Henry Austin... aka: Henry Alston.
Originally formed as The Tune Toppers... then shortened to The Toppers with Sam Fickling on lead tenor...
When Sam Fickling left, he was replaced by lead tenor Henry Austin.
Then, Kenny Drye departed too, to be replaced by James "Sharky" Brown.
The Toppers were now: lead tenor Henry Austin, second tenor James Brown,
baritone Fred Williams, bass Vernon Britton, and arranger/pianist Gabriel Gill.   )
 Record is in EX- / EX condition ( rec / slv ) with original factory paper sleeve ...
Note:  For those interested in pressing details, the master #'s "K-8752" and "K-8753"
are etched into the dead wax on the a & b-sides, respectively
