Description

AFRTS RL‑26‑6 transcription disc featuring André Previn performing Music of the Young Hollywood Composers, with arrangements by Previn and Johnny Williams (later famed for Star Wars). Includes themes from Checkmate, Inside Daisy Clover, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Pink Panther, and more. Issued exclusively for U.S. military broadcast in the mid‑1960s, these non‑commercial pressings were never sold to the public. A scarce piece of AFRTS and Hollywood music history, collectible despite condition.

Format: 12‑inch, 33 RPM transcription disc Label: AFRTS / American Forces Radio & Television Service – Station Library Sleeve: Original AFRTS paper sleeve with handwritten “1004” (earlier number crossed out, possibly “982”); staining/fading, moderate tears/creases, light ring wear, seam split along ~⅔ of one side, additional crossed‑out markings “P3LCB,” embossed “ENV. PAT. 2827223.”

G+/G from visual inspection and test play on portable turntable. Side A: frequent crackle/pops and moderate surface noise, no skips; scratches and rubs present, label with spindle wear and handwritten “1004” (corrected number). Side B: similar playback with moderate crackle/pops and surface noise, no skips; scratches and rubs present, label with spindle wear and corrected handwriting.
