Description
This is our first sale from a top of the market collection, comprising of just early stereo rarities on Decca HMV, UK Columbia & RCA. First labels issues in Near Mint condition to 99% of them, all described in detail with plenty of pictures. Includes many items rarely seen on ebay.
1st anywhere issue Uk 1962 Decca SET 230 WB gr Ed1 Salvador Dali In Venice. This is a Scarlatti vocal duet setting with chamber orchestra, arranged by Giulio Confalonieri for the Dali Exhibition of that year, with the artists own artwork for the gatefold sleeve and booklet, including many colour examples of stage backdrop art. 1st type toploader sleeve, with deep grooved plum ffss labels which are ED1 with original recording by.. at ten o clock, with the wide silver band and ffss circle at 12 O' clock. The pristine original company ffss inner is present. This is visually near mint with no marks to the playing surfaces, has clean labels with some spindle marks, and the sleeve is Excellent with a small corner bend only. You nearly always only see reissues or exports of this. Lowest 1D1D stampers confirm this as the earliest issue.
