1965 HERE ARE THE SONICS ETIQUETTE MONO LP Garage Psych Description: This record is titled: Here Are The Sonics and it is on ETIQUETTE RECORDS from Tacoma Washington. As far as I can tell, this is the very first release of this classic and very rare album. It has the red label and the number ET-LP-024 in the upper right corner. The front picture cover is pasted on and the back cover looks printed on. There is wear to the surface and a few small scuffs to a couple of the corners. There are two names written in ink on the upper left corner of the front cover. The spine is good with no splits. The record itself is a bit mysterious. Below the Etiquette logo are these words: (From The Desk of Russell L. Wellman) printed on the label and it looks original to the label and not a later addition. I tried typing his name into search to see what connection he had to the band or the record label but i came up with nothing so far. Anybody out there know??? Another thing I have heard mentioned is that the record is usually very thick, but this one is flexible. I wonder if it was a special pressing in the beginning. ?? The surface of the record still has a lot of shine but there are some scuffs here and there along with some light scratches. I played the record on an old record player i have around the house and both sides played through without any skips and i didnt hear any pops. My record player is quite primitive so a high fidelity turntable may pick up more noise than mine did. This is a mono record, not stereo. I have taken many pictures so that you can see everything you need to make up your own mind about this record. I really do not want to be sending it back and forth across the country or world so please ask questions and check out the photos carefully before bidding. One more thing, I found this record in a box and surrounded by other records of the same time period and I believe it to be the real thing.
