Now onto the item for sale.
For sale is an ultrasonically cleaned, first pressing of The Beatles: Revolver LP released by Parlophone in the U.K. in 1966.
As you probably know already, there a few variations of the first pressings of this album.
This album is a B variation with a matrix number on side one of YEX 605-1 and YEX 606-1 on the other. The labels have YEX-605/YEX-606 in parentheses.
The matrices also have albums also have numbers at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions of course which represent the mother and the stamper. This album has a 1/MT on side one and 1/RH on side two which indicates it was pressed by the first mother and the 49th stamper for side one and the first mother and 27th stamper for side two.
This issue has Dr. Robert on the cover and Doctor Robert on the label which indicates a B variation. A variations have Dr. on both the cover and the label.
This issue also the necessary embossed KT tax code on the vinyl under the label on side 2 with K and T on either side of the spindle hole.
The labels on this issue are the yellow and black Parlophone labels with rim texts that begin with "The Gramophone Co. Ltd." and "sold in U.K. below Parlophone....".
Taxman and Eleanor Rigby are also on two separate lines on the label, unlike C variations which has them on one line.
The cover is a flipback style with "printed and made by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd., London" on the back as well.
As mentioned above, we ultrasonically cleaned this album so it is very clean with jet black vinyl. Ultrasonically cleaning an album removes all of the lint, debris and whatever else down in the grooves, but it obviously doesn't remove any scratches. There are several scratches on side one, but only a handful on the other. However, all of them are very light and really light scratches We'd estimate this album to be in really nice VG condition.
As you can see, the labels look great and are in excellent condition with some really light spindle marks.
The album sleeve is in nice condition with a 2" seam split on the bottom and one side doesn't have a typical seam split caused from the album, but it has a small tear right on the edge near the top.
As we trust you know, these older album covers from the U.K. are much thinner than the typical U.S. album covers and the fronts are laminated. As you might be able to see, the laminate on this album is completely intact and hasn't separated from the cover underneath. The two right corners are a bit soft and there is a small nick along the right edge as well about 1/3 of the way down.
Because of the price and value of this album, it will be shipped in an album box via FULLY insured ground advantage with the USPS. We wrap all our albums in two layers of bubble wrap and then put a piece of cardboard on either side for extra protection during shipping.
Thanks for looking and God bless!
