Description
1966 Third Rail Folk Psych / Jug Band 45 (The Subway Train That Came to Life)
Third Rail – “The Subway Train That Came to Life” b/w “A-Train Rush Hour Stomp” (Cameo 445). Scarce end of 1966 release by this studio group comprising Artie Wayne, Rusty Evans and Mark Barkan. The name was chosen by Neil Bogart of Cameo-Parkway to whom they took their song "The Subway Train That Came To Life" as a demo; he liked it enough to issue it as it stood. It was the only record issued under that name. There is no connection to the Third Rail group featuring Artie Resnick and Joey Levine shortly afterwards. The music is in a folk psych / jug band style similar to Jim Kweskin or Dr West’s Medicine Show and Junk Band. Record is a dj copy in M- condition. Postage will be paid by purchaser.
