NICE CLEAN 1968 ORIGINAL first pressing VINYL in groovin' stereo, the very first and best Status Quo makers of pop-psych nuggets "Pictures Of Matchstick Men," "Technicolor Dreams," "Black Veils Of Melencholy," Ice In The Sun," "Sunny Cellophane Sky" and a whole lot more!!! The whole album is a winner!
The legendary 1st Status Quo album, released in 1968, was the follow-up to their first single (they released 3 under the name of "specters"), "Pictures of Matchstick man", which was one of the greatest songs of the British psychedlic era. Driven by a monstarus guitar-riff, a vox organ, haunting harmonies and a distinctive phasing this was the focal point of the sound of 'swingin' London' in 1968 and became an international hit! The rest of this album is, more or less, the brillant same with swirling phased popsike nuggets left and right. The best tracks are: 'Elizabth dream', 'When my mind is not alive' (both sang beutifully by Parfit) and the wonderful "Technicolour dreams" which is Quo's best song ever. Whatever the case, the 40+ year old album has gotten hard to find and is highly sought due to it's reputation that continues to grow. Listen to the flower people, pure acid sugar....

CONDITION: The cover is crisp and sharp, all the way around, M- has a micro-small bb delete at center as due most all copies. Sharp corners, and all-around solid seams make for a keeper copy. Has the "Picture Of Matchstick Men" sticker on center front that came on the outside cellophane wrapper (which, the outer wrap was almost always torn off, thus the sticker gone too...) Top cover makes for a TOP collectible!
The vinyl is "EX" (excellent) all shiny and plays TOP level!
Nice original '68 psyche gem!
