WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS Slim and Zella Mae Cox consist of one big happy family. We love to sing and minister for Jesus Christ who gave his life for all. We were born in the wonderful State of Arkansas. We have been serving the Lord for around fourteen years. Now, about the family. First, I have my wife, Zella Mae. She was born in Mamonith Springs, Arkansas. Her father was a minister of the Gospel. She is from a family of four- teen children. I might say my wife has been a companion to me and I praise God for my sweet wife. She has been a very wonderful mother to my children and to me a wonderful wife. You will enjoy her as she sings from her heart the songs with a hand patting beat. You will also enjoy my oldest daughter’s singing, Helen Marie. Helen Marie has been sing- ing for some years. She was born in Senith, Missouri. We would drive twenty-four miles to Jonesboro, Arkansas for a radio broadcast and make her a pallet and she would sleep during the broadcast. We are proud that God gave us Helen and she has brought many happy years to Zella Mae and me. Sharon Kay, my second oldest girl, has also been a blessing to us. She and Helen are very spiritual and they work together on duets and solos. Sharon was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. We just praise God for her, also. When the girls leave us to make a life of their own, may God bless them, is our prayer. Jimmy Darrell, my only son, is a very good looking boy. He is a great help to me and his mother. He can put up my P. A. System better than I can. He, also, sings and takes care of my records. Jimmy has been a blessing to us. We praise God for him. When he makes a life of his own, may God bless him. (P. S. his voice is changing now. Ha! Ha!) Now, the last but not least, Little Brenda Sue Cox! Jimmy Darrell was eleven years old when God through his blessing and glory gave us Brenda Sue. She is now three years old. She has long red hair and at the age of three she is singing along with the family and prais- ing the Lord. She is certainly a blessing to us and one of God’s miracle children. So you see, we the Cox Family love Jesus Christ with all our heart and soul. We are going to sing and preach as long as we can. Oh, yes, I am an ordained minister. So if you would like us for a singing or a revival, just call or write. We wish to dedicate this album to all our many friends especially my mother and father- in-law, Mr. & Mrs. A. J. Anderson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, my mother, Mrs. Jess Cox of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and our dear friends, Brother and Sister John L. Ramson and son, Michael of St. Louis, Missouri. May God bless you as you listen to this album. For revivals and singings, write to: Reverend J.C. Cox 3301 Meramec Si. Louis. Missouri
