DESCRIPTION: Purchased 1968 UK. One owner from new. We assume this to be 1st press but we are not experts. We will describe the item as accurately as we can. The record has been very well cared for and we would rate it as in excellent condition for something which is almost half a century old. THE LP: Black vinyl long playing record in excellent condition. Just played through & sounding great. Excellent smooth sound quality. No sticking, no jumps just beautiful music. Perfectly clean & shiny. A few mild marks which can only be seen if you look hard whilst turning the record towards the light, assume just the result of sliding the record in and out of the inner sleeve.

THE LABELS: Pink Island labels in excellent condition. Fully legible, clean. No graffiti, no stains, no marks, no writing, no wear, no tears, no repairs.

SLEEVE: Front laminated sleeve. Fully legible, clean, in good strong condition. No splits, no tears, no repairs, no stains, no marks, no writing, no graffiti. The spine is straight & legible. Storage wear to the edges and corners. Crease to bottom right corner. Minimal signs of ageing as to be expected for a record sleeve of almost 50yrs old.

ISLAND PINK LABEL LPS

“Island Records is the largest independent record label in the history of recorded music. Started in 1959 by Chris Blackwell and Graeme Goodall, it initially specialized in reggae but after they moved to the UK in the early 60s the releases became more and more diverse. The Island label moved towards a progressive and folk based catalogue in the late 60s. The earliest label had an orange and black "eye" logo on a pink background. Next a short mid-period (starting at 9100) featured a black letter "i" as a logo. The final stage (9107 on) a white letter "I" logo. ILP = mono, ILPS = stereo. Nearly all are collectable with some items fetching very high prices”
