Large "Trip to the Moon"
Hammond Poster
& "Our Journey to the Moon"
33 RPM LP
~1969 ~
These pieces of 'Space Memorabilia' given out in celebration
of the Apollo 11 Moon Mission may look goofy at first ~
but I assure you they are not!!
The poster dates from 1969 and is printed by Hammond.
It is 60s all the way ~ with it's graphics and colors and
pictures of all the American astronauts to date.
Truly a handsome period item. Mint and Large at 24.5 x 38".
Then, the record titled
"Our Journey to the Moon / Friendship 7 to Apollo 11"
is actually a spectacular piece of recording. I've just listened
to it. It's quite long and you'll hear the voices of Shepard, Glenn,
President Kennedy / Astronauts Frank Borman, James Lovell,
and William Anders aboard Apollo 10 / Armstrong, Aldrin
& Collins from Apollo 11 ~ and also President Nixon.
Brings you right back (if you've been there!).
Both the record and the poster are contained in a vinyl
sleeve with the Apollo 11 emblem and is imprinted with
the signature of Colonel Tom Stafford of Gemini VI, IX,
and Apollo X.
Believe this premium was sent out by
Astronaut Thomas Stafford himself to both his friends,
fans, and constituents.
Poster in Mint Folded Condition
Record Plays Perfectly / Shows some wear though.
