Description
Led Zeppelin LP 1 - The debut album
Plum Label - Very Early Pressing Side 1 - 588171 A1 - Side 2 - 588171 B4 Provenance: I worked with Kinney / Warner / WEA in the '70's.As I had a 2 or 3 copies at the time, this particulr vinyl went into storage and it has been in storage for over 40 years, so it was NEVER, EVER PLAYED!
But to be absolutely certain, I closely inspected both sides of the record and there are absolutely NO marks on the label or spindle marks around the hole. Furthermore, when slipped out of the inner for the photographs, the inner still clung to the vinyl! This only happens with a new, unused record.
It is the Polydor label, the MacNeill sleeve and the Atlantic Orange logo on the the sleeve (yes it is orange although in one picture it looks red) and the number on the run-off is 588171 A//1 with the 2nd 8 scratched out and 8 written above it (see pic).
To be on the safe side I have described it as used but both the record and the outer sleeve are virtually mint with certainly no folds, writing, sticky labels, creases or bumps but remember this highly collectable item is 44 years old!
This is one of many rare, highly collectible items I have decided to sell, including a few pre-release / white labels for both Led Zep and other artists on WEA labels.
