Description
The Five Trippy posters produced at Derby College of Art between 1969-70 for student gigs and balls plus ‘Son of Trippy’ poster, and two others including the Rag Ball. Each poster measures 20” x 30” (double crown size) and are printed silk screen in a single colour on various coloured papers. These are from the actual print run at the time (about 250 produced of each for display at various venues promoting the gigs). Almost all would have been ruined after display usage. This is a complete set of all the posters of the time produced by students and staff at the college and commercially printed. Artists who appeared at the gigs include Atomic Rooster, Chicago Climax, Swegas, Swastika, Ray Harper, Charge, Arthur Brown’s Kingdon Come, John Fernley’s Tumble & Tripe, John Fernley’s Wild Horses, Juicy Lucy, Jim Crow, High Tide, Roger Spier’s Giant Kinetic Wardrobe, Alan Bown Band. These are the original posters complete in the series and virtually unavailable today. Condition is very good with no pin marks but there is some set off to the reverse to two of the posters (particularly the Rag Ball but un-noticable from the front side). Derby College was at the forefront of graphic design in the period. First class P&P shown but Special Delivery available by arrangement.
