Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 22,000+ positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP = $4.67 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. - One of the greatest little known UK prog bands, QUATERMASS helped in their own way to the establishment of the progressive side of rock.
- QUATERMASS were formed in London in 1969 by John Gustafson (bass, vocals), Peter Robinson (keyboards) and Mick Unerwood (drums) and released their only album in 1970.
- QUATERMASS consists of a somewhat hard progressive rock sound filled with organ-orgasms and plenty of grooves.
- The LP begins and ends with the two ''Entropies'', intro and outro, which leads the way of things to come, two good short keyboard pieces... Then, in ''Black Sheep Of The Family'' we meet the classic rock side of the band, a rock track with early-DEEP PURPLE/URIAH HEEP accents.
- ''Post War Saturday Echo'' is another heavy rock track with strong progressive tendencies. All dark and bluesy with a great keyboard driven fade-away section.
- ''Good lord Knows'' is a nice short mellow track, almost symphonic, where BEGGAR'S OPERA (Waters Of Change Lp) comes to mind.
- ''Up to the Ground'' is one more hard prog example by this trio, a highl;ight style of the creative keyboard led band...'
- 'Gemini'' is early DEEP PURPLE influenced, strong prog leanings...
- Then heading into the two masterpieces = ''Make Up Your Mind'' another early DEEP PURPLE influenced melody but very soon the track transforms into a prog rock epic...great keyboard work with dark bass lines and a symphonic/complex sound ...bringing to mind early KING CRIMSON & VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR. As for the last track, ''Laughing Tackle'', well, this is a 24-carrot jam piece classic. The most symphonic track of the album with early KING CRIMSON tendencies; intricate, haunting string lines making for one of the most dark progressive tracks from the early 70's UK PROGRESSIVE scene...
- QUATERMASS deserve much of your attention for their great blending of classic rock influences with massive symph-like Hammond organ passages ...
