Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Nirvana’s third album "To Markos III" was originally slated for release on UK Island records but label boss Chris Blackwell wanted a singles band not an Island version of a progressive rock band and gave Patrick Campbell-Lyons & Alex Spyropoulos free reign to take this music elsewhere.
This they duly did, writing the caustic "Christopher Lucifer" in barbed tribute to Mr Blackwell along the way. Funding for the as yet nameless project came in the form of financial aid from Spyrppoulos's uncle Markos III and a deal was put together with the US based Metromedia label.
The album is full of some of the most lush and beautiful songs that the duo ever wrote.The real strength comes from songs like "Black Flower" and "Illinois" Elsewhere standouts are soaked in the glow with'The World Is Cold Without You', 'I Talk to My Room', and 'Tres, Tres Bien'.
Alex Spyropolous left after this album and the bands recordings arguably never reached these standards again. If you liked the first two NIRVANA albums you will probably like this.
As stated, this is a USA only release on Metromedia Records ...This is the same label that was an experiment on music promotion by the MetroMedia communications conglomerate. The label never managed to properly promote any of their acts including the highly sought "Christopher", California prog band Gypsy, psych band the Astral Projection, and other similar underground rock gems. The label folded not long after their Nirvana release and that album as well had only a limited run and is pretty much impossible to find today getting three $$$ figure sums on collectors market. This is a cohesive album of sorts, with most of the tracks centering on themes of love, love lost, and yearning. One exception is the West Coast pop-psych sounding 'Christopher Lucifer' ...
Most of these songs are glorified pop with occasional light psych leanings in the harmonizing vocals and guitar work, and more importantly some solid arrangements on songs like the opening 'The World is Cold Without You', a particularly lush 'Aline Cherie' and the mellow-jazz track 'Love Suite' with layers of backing arrangements to augment classical string heavenly backdrop, lilting keys and female backing vocals. The Lp is filled with a penchant for complex pop-psych that was certainly at least comparable to similar works by the Beatles, ELO and even the Beach Boys circa the same period. Surely with some decent promotion some of these songs would have made decent singles and the album as a whole would have moved a respectable number of copies. Too bad, but for those who are interested in the bands legendary album from this period.

CONDITION: The cover: The dark cover is extremely wear prone - about ALL surviving copies have various degrees of shelf rub, this copy didn't get past either, graded VG for shelf wear, otherwise is solid with no other problems. The back cover is VG++ with only a small minor bit of wear ...a PROMOTIONAL sticker is on back cover. There are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing ...
The vinyl: Appearance is Clean and glossy over both sides, visually a few minor hair scuffs from inner paper sleeve and couple of visual light hairlines, looks a respectable VG++ but did hear some random crackles here and there in the otherwise engaging/enjoyable play grade ... both white PROMO label Metromedia labels are clean
