This sale is for a lot of 48 individual square dancing records. The records are all 45rpm singles. They all appear to be from the 1970s. However there may be some from the 80s as well. Most have a vocal side that also features a professional caller at interludes of the song. Side 2 is usually an instrumental version of the same song. However some of the records have a different song with caller on the 2nd side.

Many come with printed out lists of the calls and moves of the various square dances that are being danced. The caller can read off what moves and steps the dancers are supposed to be doing during the song. Many on the sleeves of the records list the information of the particular caller on that record. Some of the professional callers got to be very well known and attracted a following. Dancers had their favorite callers and would go to dances that he or she would be calling. Some,but definitely not all of the callers recorded on these records are, Don Whitaker,Fran Krop, Dave Fleck,Frank Lane, Marshall Flippo,Ken Bower, John Winter, Don Franklin, Mike Michele,Betty Mueller, Bob Osgood,Lee Main,C.O.Guest,Ken Bower,Jeanne Heater,Jack O'Leary,Charlie Proctor,Dick Mattson, Kieth Rippeto and Lee Gravelle.

Most of these record labels seem to specialize in square dance music.

As I said before there are 48 45rpm singles in this collection of Square Dancing tunes. These were professionally recorded with music and the calling of square dance steps. The callers are official and professional. The musicians are professional and well known specialists in playing live for square dances and recording in the studio music for the square dances. 

I have not played and listened to all of these 45's. The ones I did listen to played fine. There was some surface noise with light pops or hiss in a few low places on a couple of them. All of these records have probably been played,if so it is normal to hear a few pops and surface noise in old vinyl. I am not officially grading them,but I would say that all of them are playable.Most look pretty good by visual grading. They come in paper and plastic record sleeves. Most are in good shape,but some of the sleeves are not in the best of shape and have rips,tears or or just in poor shape. A few  barely  stay on the record. A few of the records are not in the correct sleeves. The record may be on Belco but the sleeve says RCA. They were like that when they came into my possession. However most are in the correct sleeves and most are in decent shape.

I have been told that some of these records can be quite collectible with some being rare and very hard to find. When I was investigating these records I found some of these records individually going anywhere from $3 to $30. I think by selling these as 1 lot of 48 records,instead of selling each record separately or even in lots of 2 or 3 records. I will give someone who collects or is passionate about square dancing and this music a good deal to get all of them for a cheaper price. If your were to buy them individually you would pay 3 times or more my Buy It Now Price!!  You do not see collections of these records very often. Many of the record labels are now gone,and the bands have retired. Many of these classic dancing tunes are now out of print as well. Hearing these songs as well as hearing the great dance callers will bring back some great memories to many of you. You will want to put on your dancing shoes and put the records on the turntable and let the Hoe Down begin!!

I also wanted to show that the square dancing calls and steps are included with many of the records. Also info showing many of the professional callers on the records is included. I have not included individual photos of each record,just some of them.I do have a photo of a stack of all 48.
