We make every effort to mail all orders out Friday of each week. Keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two at most. We also strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable. Rates to Japan and Australia have been lowered. TO OUR REPEAT CUSTOMERS: We often get requests to hold orders to save on shipping. We are happy to do that. Please pay your current invoice within five days of auctions ending and IF YOU REQUEST we will hold your order and reflect a shipping discount for each additional order shipped together in the same parcel. "Free Your Mind..." actually has a lot of interesting things going on in it under the acidrock feedback guitar barrages, a total assault on the mind and body, it was obvious Funkadelic were a Detroit band with this sort of on-going heaviness in their mix.
"Friday Night..." is another strange track featuring more singing and some interesting echo effects.
"Funky Dollar Bill" is one of the true standouts, featuring superb trade-offs from guitar-master Hazel and Billy the bass. Great lyrics, too, about what we do for money. Features some remarkable freakout organ from Bernie.
"I Wanna Know..." is one of Funkadelic's all-time greatest songs, featuring a mix of some of their oldest lyrics and some wicked new ones, 'your love tastes sweeter than the honey that replaced the rain since I met you.' Also has one of the greatest guitar riffs in the history of mankind.
"Some More" actually features some lyrics from an old Clinton production called "Headache In My Heart", and would almost be Motown-ish if not for the production values.
"Eulogy & Light" is the strange ending to the experience, with a 'heady' rap over a 1969 Funkadelic tune, "Open Our Eyes", played backwards! The result is a frightening song, especially matched with the menacing vocal. 'Heady acid music' indeed. The words are sometimes used in concert as an intro to "Maggot Brain."

CONDITION: The gatefold cover has been pretty well kept VG++ no splits, no bends no writing. For some reason covers are usually found torn, frayed and generally worn out. This copy still stiff and pretty strong...
The vinyl is equally nice VG+++ no damages, couple of faint harmless superfical scuffs at worse, plays like the champ that it is! Enjoyable 1971 first pressing vinyl!
