PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. 1971 original ....fairly professional sounding rock act who could have been big with the right promotion department backing... GAME did release TWO collectible albums and both have redeeming features with a strong accessible orientation focused on song original writing ability and crafty instrumentation. The second GAME LP (here) basically follows in the footsteps of their previous release. It's a decent mix of somewhat loud boogie blues and a memorable melodic infused rock format with nice vocal harmonies.

Eddie Keating, Chuck Kirkpatrick, Scott Kirkpatrick, Les Luhring and George Terry had all been members of the Southern Florida based “Proctor Amusement Company”. The band had become quite popular throughout the region, even recording two singles and an unreleased album before calling it quits. While “Proctor Amusement Company” had come to an end, by 1969 the five were playing Southern Florida clubs as “Game”. The band managed to release two albums for "Evolution" Records. "Long Hot Summer" is their RARE second album and best of the two with a strong rock effort and decent mix of somewhat loud boogie blues and memorable melody drenched material with nice vocal harmonies.
Unfortunately, the LP went nowhere due to poor promotion. In 1970, the band relocated to Southern California. Original drummer Scott Kirkpatrick dropped out before the move, replaced by Dave Robinson. Over the next two years, the band recorded a considerable amount of material, but found no takers. Forced to start playing local clubs when their long time financial benefactor threatened to cut off support, Robinson and Terry called it quits, returning to Florida. Terry subsequently hit the big time as a member of Eric Clapton's band. Enduring a series of personnel changes, the band continued to play through 1978. Chuck Kirkpatrick recorded an instantly obscure solo album for Capitol before returning to Miami where he spent some time recording and touring with Firefall, eventually starting his own business. His brother Scott Kirkpatrick also played with Firefall after having toured with Roger McGuinn in 1980-1981.
Chuck Kirkpatrick says: I was playing in a band the entire time I was an engineer at Criteria, which sometimes made for some conflicts. The studio manger at the time was very cool, and managed to arrange my schedule so I could play my gigs. The band had two names: First, Proctor Amusement Company - a band doing a lot of pop/harmony covers; then we renamed ourselves GAME and began doing all original tunes. One of the great perks working at Criteria was the free studio time at which I was allowed to record and rehearse my band. We were learning tunes from the Eric Clapton album "Layla" before it was ever released. We also were used as a studio band for certain local acts, doing the tracking and backing vocals. Between 1969 and 1971, GAME recorded two of our own albums for Evolution Records at Criteria.
