Kingdom Come, Brooklyn-bred Sir Lord Baltimore's debut album from 1970, was one of the first heavy obscurities that tore the roof off the house, yeah, it is a beast -- and it's a relic from the early freewheeling days of heavy rock, before the formula had been defined, refined and distilled. Home brewed white lightning. This record is a crazed, hungry, foaming-at-the-mouth Hell Hound, not satisfied with Robert Johnson's long ago ingested soul, but looking for new, fresh, unguarded souls to devour. So keep your hands inside the vehicle, lest you lose them. Sir Lord Baltimore take no responsibility for injuries incurred from listening to their KINGDOME COME album....and the tracks? shredding, heaviness...This is seriously hard music -- big, fuzzy, clipped guitar riffs, MC5-like energy, huge dinosaur stomp beat, a singer who growls & wails in suitable fashion. The songs are tight and carefully arranged, showing a group that obviously were tight and in peak form.
