PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. 1971 UK BLUESY BOOGIE ROCKER WITH MEMORABLE TRACKS
STATUS QUO
DOG OF TWO HEAD
UK - PYE RECORDS - NSPL 18371
SCARCE ORIGINAL 1971 BRITISH first pressing on the famed and collected PYE RECORDS LABEL in deluxe gatefold cover.... Pye issued some of the most collectible rock & prog lp's in the late 60's and early 70's ... here is one:
Dog Of Two Head is one of the most varied albums of Status Quo's earlier years ranging from the memorable melodics in "Nanana" to the incredible guitar soloing of "Railroad". This came slightly before the "boogie rock" sound of the succeeding albums but it definitely still has it's influences in "Railroad", as well as the similar boogie-blues in "Umleitung" and "Someone's Learning". It paved the way for Piledriver whilst showcasing some experimental aspects as shown in "Gerdundula" which has a very clear Celtic feel to it. Another interesting "gimmick" is the recurring excerpts of "Nanana" spread throughout the album which gradually get closer to the final track which is the full song. Ultimately a great album and the best thing about the album is that the sound is varied and the quality is consistently high. If we can find the weakest song it might be "Something's Going On In My Head" but it's a far cry from bad and very listenable. "Mean Girl" is a very catchy number that Status Quo started playing live again as of the Pictures Of Matchstick tour. "Railroad" and "Gerdundula" are masterpieces and have, deservedly, gone down as Quo classics so nothing needs to be said there. "Someone's Learning" and "Umleitung" are the two longest songs on the album at over 7 minutes and are suitably fantastic! "Umleitung" especially has a very strong rockin'-boogie jam feel to it. You can't help but move around a little when it comes on! If you get into the album and it gets broken or stolen, you will cry. And then have to find it again, getting more rare by the minute.
"Umleitung" - 7:11 "Nanana (Extraction I)" - 0:51 "Something's Going on in My Head" - 4:44 "Mean Girl" - 3:53 "Nanana (Extraction II)" - 1:11 "Gerdundula" - 3:49 "Railroad" - 5:30 "Someone's Learning" - 7:08 "Nanana" - 2:26CONDITION: The cover is a nice gatefold, in top "EX" (excellent) with no split seams and rich original colors...will be a fine collection addition...
