We didn't have a group name at the time, and so we came up with the name Minstrels, which means (any of a class of lyric poets and singers of the middle ages who traveled from place to place singing and reciting.) As we began to make personal appearances, we felt that there was quite a demand for records, so we decided to make this album, we hope there will be more to follow, and we sincerely appreciate those who have helped make it possible. In introducing the group by name, we have Rubel Morgan on guitar and he does the lead singing for the group, James Morgan plays mandolin and sings alto, incidentally James and Rubel are brothers and James does a fine job on lead guitar, Eugene Napier plays guitar and sings high tenor, we feel we have one of the best tenor singers around in Eugene, these three brethren have been singing together for the past six years and they come from Leslie County, Ky., near Hyden, Ky. Our Banjo player is Bill Mineer, Bill comes from Mason County, Ky., near Maysville. He sings bass and is the leader of the group. Bill's thirteen year old son plays bass and is coming on as a lead singer. We the Christian Minstrels enjoy singing for our Lord, and we hope this album will be a blessing to those that hear it.
