Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1972 ULTRA RARE ORIGINAL
INDONESIA MELODIC UNDERGROUND PSYCH LEGENDS
PANBERS
SOUND 2
\ INDONESIA - MESRA - LP 52
MEGA RARE 1972 INDONESIAN FIRST PRESSING that all but never turns up ... Panbers were one of the countries top underground bands and made at least 2 favored and sought "psych" albums along their way .... this one, ("SOUND 2"), and their first (1971 LP, "Volume 1") are the ones collectors hunt for but amost never find in any shape -- and have eagerly exchanged heavy $$$ dollars to get first pressings.
The influential psych-rock that emerged in 1970s Indonesia was born out of deep-seeded social unrest. The country’s leader in the ‘60s, Sukarno, had no use for “Western cultural imperialism”, and thus dismissed and censored bands who took their influence from the huge Western acts of the day: notably, Elvis, the Beatles, and the Rolling Stones. For a country that spent three centuries under Dutch colonial rule, perhaps a dismissal of Western imperialism was, in part, understandable. This approach by Sukarno, though it may have steered musicians towards a distinct Indonesian-pop sound—one rooted in traditional Indonesian folk—also alienated many acts, sending them to Europe, finding shelter and artistic freedom in places such as, ironically, the Netherlands.
After a military coup in 1965, new leader Suharto orchestrated the blood bath that was the “Communist Purge”, opening the gates in the vacuum that followed for Western culture to come in. As a result, the psych-rock and hardrock scenes boomed. Bands like Panbers, AKA, Shark Move, Koes Plus, and Black Brothers were influential, in-demand artists. It’s the Panbers time in the spotlight that is highlighted here on their very rare second album. This is primarily an organ, guitar, bass/vocals & drums melodic psych longhair crew and features moody dreamy tracks similar to early Procol Harum...and is injected with fantastic sitar psych like on the monster acid grooves of "Rock And The Sea."

CONDITION: The Cover: the very fragile cover is in remarkable strong condition, VG++ having virtually little handling wear and has rich colors ... there's a sticker that can probably be removed, number 21 ... no split seams, and very collectible
The Vinyl: both sides are still glossy, something to be said for the 40 year old artifact, when most copies were beat to death years ago in the primitive elements of Indonesia where spikes were used for tonearm needles...here a survivor, side one has some top surface light hair scuffs, visually VG+ plays in excellent zones...side two is clean, near "EX" (excellent), plays delightful ...
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
