Description
Original AFRTS Station Library transcription LP RL‑51‑9 featuring a country compilation on Side 1 with Jerry Lee Lewis, Waylon Jennings, Jimmy Newman, and Roy Drusky, paired with Hall of Fame Hits Vol. 1 by Jerry Lee Lewis on Side 2. Produced exclusively for U.S. military broadcast use and never sold commercially, these discs were pressed in limited quantities and distributed to bases worldwide. This edition blends honky‑tonk, early outlaw country, and rockabilly‑influenced Nashville recordings.
Photo Note: Any circular “ring” visible in images is only a reflection from the ring light used during photography. It is not present on the record or sleeve itself.

VG+ record / VG sleeve. Vinyl shows strong gloss with a few short hairlines, several dot scuffs on the outer perimeter, and light sleeve scuffing. Playback on a test deck reveals very minimal surface noise, among the cleanest heard on an AFRTS country disc, and only a few faint random pops on early tracks. A short rotational pop appears on Track 4 of Side 1 but is intermittent and likely to disappear on higher‑quality equipment. Side 2 plays similarly clean with a handful of rotational pops on Track 1 and a few faint randoms elsewhere. No skips or tracking issues. Labels are clean with minor spindle wear, slight ink fade, and handwritten “140.” Sleeve is VG with light fading, a few small tears at the opening, and typical ring wear. Playback may vary depending on equipment; sold as‑is.
Photo Note: Any circular “ring” visible in images is only a reflection from the ring light used during photography. It is not present on the record or sleeve itself.
Grading Note: AFRTS transcription discs are unique non‑commercial utilitarian pressings, often showing quirks from their service use and occasional factory flaws. These discs commonly exhibit light inherent noise and minor cosmetic anomalies even on clean examples, and they frequently play best on higher‑end equipment.
