'‘El Occidental” (Mexico City) called her “a formidable artist. . . with great perfection and emotional depth.” The Herald-Tribune (Paris) was impressed by “her superb inter- pretations.” Mlle. Brun has given more than two hundred major recitals in the United States. This album is the actual recording of a concert in Los Angeles. During the 1972 season Mlle. Brun gave two concerts at Carnegie Hall in New York. After the second concert in Car- negie’s Main Hall, the New York Times praised her “technical ability and control of dynamics and tonal shading.” The nation- al magazine Music Journal said “Brun played with authority and sensitivity . . . strength and dexterity.” Andree Juliette Brun is an honor graduate of the Paris Na- tional Conservator}7 of Music. Her teachers were the great ex- ponents of the French tradition; Madame Marguerite Long, Jacques .Fevrier, Marcel Ciampi, Madame Bascourret de Guer- aldi and conductors Eugene Bigot and Gaston Poulet.
