1977 Randy Crawford Test Press LP (Miss Randy Crawford)

Randy Crawford – “Miss Randy Crawford” (Warner Bros 3083). Crawford is an American jazz and R&B singer who has proved more successful in Europe than her homeland where she has yet to crack the Billboard Hot 100. “All Music Guide” described the LP this way, “Crawford’s charming debut was produced by Bob Montgomery (Bobby Goldsboro, Billy Sherrill) with some tracks having a slight country-ish/Southern soul feel to them. Its a perfect showcase for Crawford's interpretive skill.The singer makes the Don Henley/Glenn Frey song "Desperado" and the Mack Gordon/Harry Warren standard "At Last," her own. The former and her erotically charged take on Paul Kelly's "Under the Influence of You" received airplay on R&B/soul-formatted FM stations. Miss Randy Crawford was a tasty precursor for what was to come.” Cuts include: “Hallelujah Glory Hallelujah”, “I Can't Get You off My Mind”, “I'm Under the Influence of You”, “Over My Head”, “Desperado”, “Take It Away from Her (Put It on Me) “, “Single Woman, Married Man”, “Half Steppin'”, “This Man”, and “At Last”. This disc is a test pressing for the LP It was apparently used by the art department at Warner Brothers and the disc has plain white Warner test pressing labels and a plain white generic cover (the label number is written in marker on the cover). An internal use cue sheet with information regarding the pressing is stapled to the cover. Record is in M- condition. Postage & insurance will be paid by purchaser.
