Description
Boomtown Rats LP on Ensign Records from 1978, fully signed by the band, including (Sir) Bob Geldof.
Signed by all 6 members of the band (Sir) Bob Geldof, Simon Crow, Johnnie Fingers, Pete Briquette, Gerry Cott and Garry Roberts. The back cover of the LP and inner sleeve of 6 photographs are both fully signed. The lyric sheet (other side of the 6 photo inner sleeve) has also been signed again by Geldof and Pete Briquette. Three Geldof signatures for the price of one!
Condition is EXCELLENT, vinyl looks virtually unplayed (I didn't like the album!) and the sleeve and inner parts are virtually mint too.

The autographs were obtained by me at HMV’s store in New Street Birmingham at a personal appearance coinciding with a gig at Birmingham Odeon (June 1978). I'd seen The Rats at Barbarellas in 1977 and they were BRILLIANT, but by the time of this LP my interest had waned as it became clear that Geldof had listened to Springsteen's Born To Run album a few too many times! :-) (Compare Rat Trap to Springsteen's 1975 Jungleland track, which even has the key line "The rat's own dream guns him down.....").
Little did we know that Bob would go on to become a global “ political” figure and create history with Band Aid and Live Aid.
