Description
1978 Willie Lindo Midnight /CHAR After Midnight Private Birmingham based Black Wax Label 45 in a solid Roots bassline tune & version with a killer guitar tune over the top, and breathy vocals.
This looks dirty and has a number of marks to it, playing on my hifi set up with plenty of bacon frying surface noise. It may fare better with a more robus dj stylus, as my set up is geared towards classical lps, what i mainly sell. I am going to call this one good to very good, with clean labels and no warp. Plays without skips and the 1st side improves somewhat halfway through. Black wax was a record shop on the Lozells Road, just heading in to Handsworth, when I was a reggae loving schoolboy. Long gone now.
