Special Edition with Sid McGee – Ashford and Simpson, Pt 1. (Westwood one 8510). Great spring of 1985 program from this series features host Sid McCoy and sponsored by Michelob and featuring interviews and playing music. This program features a two part show with husband-and-wife songwriting-production team and recording artists Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson. The programs were broadcast during the weeks of March 4-10, 1985 and March 11-17, 1985 and last one hour each. Part 1 features interviews focusing on their early days at Motown and through their decision to go on their own and includes songs either performed by the duo or written and/or produced by them including: “Out of the World (Ashford & Simpson)”; “Love Don’t Make It Right (Ashford and Simpson)”; “Let’s Go Get Stoned (Ray Charles)”; “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough (Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell)”; “Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing (Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell)”; “Reach Out & Touch (Diana Ross)”; “Don’t You Know (Gladys Knight & Pips)”; “The Boss (Diana Ross)”; “Anywhere (Ashford & Simpson)” and “Send It (Ashford and Simpson).” No cue sheet. Record is in M- condition and cover is in VG condition (has name & show number written at top and a spot of magic marker at top center). Postage will be paid by purchaser.
