1986 US Blue Note Manhattan Audiophile Direct Metal Master of Jackie McLean Quartet: Let Freedom Ring. This usually gets 5 star reviews for his boldness of approach, that celebratory tone in his playing as well as the title, as he takes the range of the Alto sax a little further out than was the norm in 1961. I bought this new, and have played it about once a decade, as I have a 10k lp collection, so can never get around to playing anything too often, and have a tendency towards European Jazz a little more than blue notes. This is excellent all round, and in the farewell listen, I did not hear any clicks or skips, the record is flat, the seams are not split, there is no pen or dirt. Labels are clean. If you use an elliptical or better stylus, you will benefit from the DMM increased range. A cheap conical will just sound normal at best. I have cleaned the lp before the playgrade on a wash and vacuum machine, added a new antistic inner and it is all stored in a heavy gauge poly outer. We pack carefully.
