and exclusive Paul McCartney interview
“The Rock Chronicles” was a weekly syndicated show in the USA presented by Dave Herman, with reports from Roger Scott in London. The format was a “magazine show” playing tracks from recent releases, giving news of happenings in the music world, interviews with the stars, forthcoming live shows etc.
June 1987 was the 20th anniversary of the release of the Sgt. Pepper album and the show featured a Paul McCartney interview talking about the album. The interview is sandwiched between 2 Beatles’ songs: “Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band” and “Getting Better”.The show also included a news item about Yoko accompanied by a clip of the Beatles version of ‘Money (That’s What I Want)’. The show was produced by Westwood One and distributed to local stations on 2 LPs. There is also a 30 second trailer for the show on the albums. The two albums are housed in two white sleeve which have been taped together (presumably so the two albums would not get seperated as they represent one radio show episode). Comes complete with the original (unmarked) 2-page cue sheet.
